Matty Healy wants you to know what he thinks of Taylor Swift's new album.

Taylor Swift is currently riding the high of her new album, The Tortured Poets Department, and many of the hit tracks are 100 per cent (according to Swifties) about her fling with British singer Matt Healy. 

And let's just say the lyrics don't exactly paint Healy in the best light.

But now we have an answer to what Healy thinks of the new album... well kind of. 

After being approached by media in Los Angeles this week, he was asked how he would "rate" his "Taylor diss track" compared to her other albums. 

The 1975 frontman replied: "My diss track? Oh!" then laughed and added, "I haven't really listened to that much of it, but I'm sure it's good."

How very suave and cool-boy of him. Of course the irony is that in this one sentence, Healy just proved why Swift wrote an entire album about him.

What sort of guy knows the whole world is talking about him and doesn't spare an hour... okay two (it's a very long album)... to hear exactly what their ex is saying!?

Healy's aunt has also spoken this week about her nephew's likely opinion on it all.

Debbie Dedes said to Daily Mail: "Nothing surprises him anymore. He will not be surprised by the song. Him and her know what went on."

We hate to break it to Healy's aunt, but there certainly isn't just one song about him on the album... there's a few. Anyway, we digress.

"She writes about all her relationships, doesn't she? I don't think it will come as a shock to him at all. As my nephew, we know a bit more about what went on than has been in the press."

Dedes ended by saying that her nephew is "very happy" in his current relationship. He has been dating model and Instagram chef Gabbriette Bechtel since September 2023.

For many, Healy was a mere blip on the radar in Swift's love life. Swift and Healy only reportedly had a 'one-month situationship' in early 2023. But the die-hard fans know the full story.

It's believed their romance actually begun a decade ago, when they first met in November 2014.

Healy confirmed he met Swift backstage at his Los Angeles show and they exchanged numbers. After this meeting, Swift apparently favourited a shirtless photo of the singer.

Healy was quizzed about the meeting on Australian radio program Shazam Top 20 and offered an enthusiastic response when asked if they were the next big celebrity couple. "I mean, bloody hell, what am I going to do, go out with Taylor Swift?" Healy replied. "She's a sensation. I wouldn't say no."

Later in November, Swift was photographed wearing a tank top with an image of The 1975 on it in Los Angeles. In December, she attended a The 1975 concert in New York City which led to Us Weekly reporting that Swift and Healy began secretly dating after the British rocker had pursued her over text.

By January 2015, Healy denied the dating rumours but did share sentiments he was crushing on the singer. "We met each other. We exchanged numbers in the same way a lot of people in this kind of world do. And we spoke occasionally, and then she's the biggest pop star in the world," he said during one radio interview. 

"There's no, like, relationship or anything happening... As much as it'd be amazing for me if it did, unfortunately it didn't."

But in February 2015, Swift and Healy were spotted partying together at the Brit Awards after-party.

Soon after though, Calvin Harris was on the scene and he and Swift were confirmed to be in a relationship. Poor Healy. 

Now some may be wondering why so much heat has been directed at Healy — what makes him a f-boy in some people's eyes?

The Matty Healy controversy explained.

Healy has a history of making problematic comments. And it didn't sit very well with the Swifties.

In 2016, Healy had described the idea of dating Swift as a "de-masculinating, emasculating thing".

In 2023, Healy made some remarks about rapper Ice Spice that many felt were racist and derogatory. While appearing on The Adam Friedland Show, Healy and the hosts were doing racist impressions of how they imagined rapper Ice Spice's accent.

During the same episode, Healy also joked about masturbating to hardcore porn in which Black women are humiliated and 'brutalised'. The episode has since been removed from Spotify and Apple.

At the start of this same year, a video circulated online which appeared to show Healy doing a Nazi salute on stage while marching on the spot. It was reportedly a satire reference to Kanye West, but regardless, it didn't land. 

He did the gesture during a performance of The 1975's song 'Love it If We Made It' as he sang the lyrics: 'Thank you, Kanye, very cool.' At the time West was in the news following his antisemitic remarks.

Based on the clues and Easter eggs, it sounds like Swift spent most of the songs venting about her dalliance with Healy. 

In 'Guilty as Sin', Swift suggests that while she was in a relationship, she had "fatal fantasies" about someone from her past. If this wasn't overt enough, she mentioned the crush sending her a song by the Scottish band The Blue Nile.

And guess what? Healy has previously called The Blue Nile his "favourite band of all time". 

In 'The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived', she sings about someone "Gazing at me starry-eyed in your Jehovah's Witness suit," which is likely a reference to Healy's trademark suited look. 

She then accuses the same man of ghosting her at the end of their romance, as she alludes to drug use in the relationship. 

"You tried to buy some pills from a friend of friends of mine. They just ghosted you, now you know what it feels like," she sang. 

Swift later added that the person "showed me off then sank in stoned oblivion." 

The song culminates in Swift singing, "You said normal girls were 'boring' but you were gone by the morning. You kicked out the stage lights, but you're still performing." 

Even the title track, 'The Tortured Poets Department', seems to reference Healy — possibly a joke at his expense for bringing a typewriter to her apartment like a modern day Dylan Thomas.

"You left your typewriter at my apartment / Straight from the Tortured Poets Department / I think some things I never say / Like, 'Who uses typewriters anyway?'" 

She also references her partner smoking and eating seven bars of chocolate — and that could be a reference to The 1975's hit, 'Chocolate', and refers to the man in question as a "tattooed golden retriever". 

But hey... maybe when he finally listens to the album Healy will pick up on far more Easter eggs. Time will tell.
