Babies, breakups and one 'sh*t bloke': What happened to every single Bachelor couple.

After 11 seasons, The Bachelor Australia franchise is no more. 

The reality dating competition series has been axed and won't be returning for another season, Network 10 confirmed on Tuesday, May 7. 

Which means no more rose ceremonies. No more competitive group dates. No more cocktail parties — and no more getting to watch love blossom before our very eyes. 

After more than a dozen seasons between The Bachelor Australia and The Bachelorette Australia, there have been quite a few couples that have formed over the years as a result of the show. We've seen engagements, marriages, babies and break-ups alike.

But which Bachelor franchise couples are still together, and what have they been up to now that the show has wrapped up?

Tim Robards and Anna Heinrich.

Tim Robards and Anna Heinrich met on the very first season of The Bachelor Australia in 2013.

Before the show, Anna was working as a criminal lawyer, and Tim was a chiropractor.

Four years after meeting on The Bachelor, Tim and Anna announced their engagement in May 2017.

The next year, in June 2018, the couple wed in Italy, making them the first couple from The Bachelor Australia franchise to get married.

Just months later, the newlyweds took their relationship long-distance when Tim landed a role on Neighbours. As filming for Neighbours was based in Melbourne and Anna's work was based in Sydney, the pair spent several months living in separate states, which led to countless rumours about them breaking up — something they always denied.

On September 17, 2023 — almost three years after the birth of their eldest — the pair announced they were expecting a second child together and in March 2024, they welcomed baby Ruby to the world.

"It's been a BIG few days with a few speed bumps to test us out but coming up for air and can now introduce you to Ruby Robards," the couple said. "Mum and Ruby are doing well now, Dad has a few more greys which will miraculously turn brown intermittently, and Elle is being an unbelievable big sister and even better midwife."

Locky Gilbert and Irena Srbinovska.

After a season that kept us guessing until the last minute, Locky Gilbert chose Irena Srbinovska to be his one and only.

Two years after their season aired, the pair announced their engagement, and they married in March 2023.

And almost a year later in February 2024, they announced the birth of their daughter, Ava Aleksandra Gilbert.

Before baby Ava, the couple were open about losing two pregnancies through miscarriage. 

"We've been trying to get pregnant and try to start our family and we were absolutely over the moon when we found out we were pregnant last month," Irena told 7Life in July 2023.

"Unfortunately, a week later we suffered a miscarriage, and... it was emotional, hard and obviously heartbreaking."

Following her birth, Irena said they are "soaking up every minute". 

"We've been soaking up every minute with Ava and loving life with our baby girl," she said in an Instagram post. "I haven't known a love like this and I am so blessed. I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night (if she hasn’t woken me already) just to check that she is real and she is mine."

Since giving birth, the couple have hit the road and are hiking, road-tripping and camping around Australia.

"By far the happiest I have ever been in my life is being a mum to Ava. I am taking in every single moment with her [and] I hope this is the beginning of a lifetime of travel and adventures for our little girl," Irena reflected. 

"Don't get me wrong, travelling with a baby hasn't been easy but all is forgotten when I see her smiling and giggling."

Sam Wood and Snezana Markoski.

Sam Wood met Snezana Markoski on the third season of The Bachelor in 2015. After meeting on the show, Sam gave Snezana a promise ring, which has been affectionately dubbed "the Cheezel ring".

As Snezana and her daughter Eve were based in Perth and Sam was based in Melbourne, the couple's relationship was long-distance at first. After four months, they moved in together in Melbourne, before Sam proposed in December 2015.

Initially, the pair planned to marry in Italy like fellow Bachelor alumni Tim Robards and Anna Heinrich, but those plans were put on hold when they learned that Snezana was pregnant with their first child.

In October 2017, they welcomed Willow Wendy Wood. The next year, in November 2018, the couple married at Byron Bay's Fig Tree Restaurant. Both Eve and Willow were part of the bridal party.

In July 2019, Sam and Snezana welcomed their second child together, daughter Charlie Lane Wood.

In November 2021, the couple announced they were on their way to welcoming a fourth child.

"Filled with joy to share that we are expecting another little girl," Snezana wrote in a post to Instagram. Then in May 2022, they gave birth to their youngest daughter, Harper.

It's been nine years since Sam met Snezana and he says taking on a stepdaughter was a role he was ready for. 

"It's almost as though she's always been with me. It doesn't feel like I wasn't there for the first nine years of her life," he said in Mel Wilson's Parenting In Progress.

The reality star added that life turned out exactly as he had hoped. 

"I always knew I wanted to have a big family, and it just feels right. I can't even imagine life any other way," he explained. "It's crazy to think that I only became a dad nine or so years ago, to be honest."

Brooke Blurton and Darvid Garayeli.

The day after Brooke Blurton's Bachelorette finale aired in 2021, she and her winner Darvid moved in together.

However, on January 2, 2022, Darvid announced the couple had decided to part ways after one month of publicly dating.

"Starting the new year off with an end to a chapter and hopefully the beginning of another," he wrote in an Instagram story. 

"Unfortunately Brooke and I have parted ways. Whilst we both genuinely thought we were each other's person, things change and that's okay. Please respect our privacy and that at the end of the day we are both just people with real feelings.

"Thank you so much for being considerate, a lot [sic] of lessons learned."

A few hours later, Brooke shared that she was surprised by Darvid's public announcement, despite saying it was a mutual decision. 

"Hey beautiful people, before my phone blows up. I just want to say right now I'm finding this really quite overwhelming and just as surprising to me as you guys," she wrote. 

"I just woke up to the news. It was definitely agreed to part ways. I just wanted to do it privately, amicably and respectfully. This is not how and what I expected to be doing right now so as you can imagine, this is all a lot. 

She added: "You will all have your judgements and have your say but there is a lot going on in my world and D's of course. So I again just ask you to be kind, we are human. I really do hope you respect some part of some what [sic] 'privacy' we do have right now because like I said, this was a surprise to wake up to just as much as it was for you guys."

Since the breakup, Brooke began hosting the podcast Not So PG with Matty Mills and also released her memoir Big Love in 2022.

Bachie season nine couple Jimmy and Holly tied the knot in August 2023.

At the time of the series, Holly said it was shocking to have met the love of her life on a reality show.

"You're just doing all these amazing, grand things [on the show] and a camera is always there. It really just makes you want to do the simple things."

They got engaged during an Italian holiday in August 2022 and married in a small ceremony at Jimmy's parents' home in the rather fancy Palm Beach, before a reception at Northern Beaches restaurant Pasadena. 

Elly Miles and Frazer Neate.

Elly Miles and Frazer Neate broke up one month after The Bachelorette finale. While Frazer has been quiet about their decision to split up, Elly shared her own experience about their relationship. 

"From the second that I met him on the show... I was definitely drawn to him," she confessed on The Real House Husbands Podcast hosted by The Amazing Race's Tim and Rod Sattler-Jones.

"I look back to the moment when it was all happening and thinking he's great and stuff but in hindsight, I think maybe he reminded me of two of my exes and that's why I was drawn to him. Maybe it was familiarity."

When asked about infamous cheating allegations, Elly revealed that she had been messaged multiple times on social media about his alleged antics. 

"How can you really know until that person admits it to you? Frazer has definitely not admitted that to me, he's definitely always denied it," she said.

"I had the highest hopes, I was very naive and I guess caught up in hoping the best for the situation."

The 2020 Bachelorette also went on to say, "I don't even know I'd call it a relationship. He might've been a bit of a s**t bloke but he was a great lesson."

Becky Miles and Pete Mann.

It was an unlucky season for love on the 2020 series of The Bachelorette. Elly Miles' sister, Becky (who joined her as a Bachelorette) also parted ways with the man she chose at the end of the season, Pete Mann.

The couple announced the split the morning after the finale aired.

"We came into this experience wanting a fairy tale ending for the two of us, and while I am thrilled that Elly found her person in Frazer, unfortunately things didn't work out with Pete and me," Becky shared on her Instagram. 

"Although I wasn’t lucky enough to find my person this time around, I am grateful for this opportunity and leave with fond memories and no regrets," she wrote.

In an emotional interview with Nova 96.9's Fitzy & Wippa, Becky explained how Pete broke up with her soon after the finale was filmed.

"We filmed the finale, we had a couple of days together, they were really lovely days. 

"We left that saying, you know, we're going to miss each other, he was happy I chose him... When he got home to Adelaide, about three days later we had a FaceTime and he said 'Look I'm sorry I just can't do it'... I still feel quite confused, I'm not really sure [of Pete's reason]. He said that he didn't see a spark there."

Becky did end up finding love in 2021 though, with Newcastle local James Bevitron.

They welcomed a daughter, Billie Austin Bevin, in 2022.

Blake Garvey and Sam Frost.

In the second season of The Bachelor in 2014, things… didn’t exactly work out.

During the finale, Blake Garvey got down on one knee and made Bachelor history, proposing to his winner Sam Frost.

The day after the finale aired, viewers learned Blake had dumped Sam and begun dating Louise Pillidge, who came third on the reality show. The move earned Blake the nicknames 'love rat' and 'the most hated man in Australia'.

"When you have that time together and you feel that it's not quite right, you have to listen to your heart," he told The Project at the time.

"You have to trust your gut and that's what I’ve done, and that's why I'm in this position now."

Blake and Louise dated for 18 months before they separated in 2016. Sam Frost went on to become the first star of The Bachelorette Australia.

After being dumped by Blake Garvey, Sam Frost became Australia's first Bachelorette and the first contestant to get a second chance at love.

Although Sam chose Sasha Mielczarek in the finale in 2015, the pair split up a year later. She starred in Home and Away for five years from 2017 to 2021.

Sam is engaged to Survivor: Blood vs Water contestant Jordie Hansen. They welcomed a son, Theodore, in March 2023.

Meanwhile, Sasha welcomed a baby girl with wife Carly Cottam in August 2023. 

"Introducing the new love of our life, Stevie Marie Mielczarek (good luck spelling that my little angel). Born 01.08.2023 and already has more hair than Dad," he shared on Instagram.

Richie Strahan and Alex Nation.

Richie Strahan was the second contestant to get a second chance in the franchise after coming third in Sam Frost's season of The Bachelorette.

In the 2016 season of The Bachelor, Richie chose Alex Nation and gave her a promise ring.

By August 2017, the pair had split up.

At the time, the breakup was largely unexplained. But in early 2019, the former couple sat down together on Bachelor in Paradise and had a long-overdue conversation. During their conversation, Richie and Alex spoke about how their long-distance relationship had affected them both.

"I barely saw you. I needed to see you more," Alex said throughout the conversation, to which Richie argued that she had continued to "move the goalposts" and had barely visited him in Perth.

"[You weren’t there] when I needed you most — when I needed you — and you know what I’m talking about," Alex said.

Alex and her current partner, Carson Jory, have two children, Maxwell and Pearl. Alex also shares her first-born, Elijah, with her ex-husband Joel Porter.

Georgia Love and Lee Elliot.

In 2016, Georgia Love chose Lee Elliott on The Bachelorette Australia. After moving in together in August 2018, the pair announced their engagement in September 2019.

In 2020, Georgia, who also works as a Channel 10 reporter, launched her podcast Everyone Has An Ex.

"I realised there’s something really juicy and voyeuristic about hearing about other people’s failed relationships," Georgia told Mamamia. "A bit of misery loves company, people who are going through their own heartbreak or their own bad situation, it’s really nice to hear about other people going through the same, or similar, or worse."

Georgia has also launched her own sleep and loungewear label, Georgia Elliott, with her friend Jess.

"I've had this idea about pyjamas for years and about a year ago I kept saying this, and no one's done it, no one's filled that gap yet, maybe I should just try," she explained on Mamamia's Lady Startup Stories. 

Georgia and Lee later tied the knot in March 2021.

Matthew 'Matty J' Johnson and Laura Byrne.

In 2017, Matty J, who was Georgia Love's runner-up, got a second chance on The Bachelor.

After telling winner Laura Byrne he loved her at the finale, Matty J and Laura moved in together in mid-2018. In April 2019, the pair got engaged while on their 'babymoon', as Laura was pregnant at the time.

"You are my favourite everything. YES to a lifetime of love and flamboyant dance moves with you my honey," Laura wrote, sharing the news on Instagram.

In June 2019, the pair welcomed their first child into the world: daughter Marlie-Mae Rose Johnson.

Laura, who is a successful jewellery designer, launched her podcast Life Uncut alongside fellow Bachelor star Brittany Hockley in mid-2019. 

Matty and Laura welcomed their second child, Lola Ellis Johnson, in February 2021 and married in November 2022.

Sophie Monk and Stu Laundy.

Sophie Monk was Australia's first celebrity Bachelorette in 2017.

During the season, Sophie chose an intruder, publican Stu Laundy.

Just three months after the finale aired, the pair announced their split, leading fans to question whether the couple's relationship was governed by a "relationship contract".

Now, Sophie is dating Joshua Gross, who she met on a plane.

"I had just finished filming Love Island in Mallorca and was on my way to San Francisco for a random TV gig with Channel Nine when I made a last-minute decision to go back to Australia. I sat next to Josh in business class and we started chatting. About two hours into the flight, I asked him if he was single. He responded, 'yes'. I then asked if I could kiss him. I was clearly out of practice and a bit of a nerd so I went to brush my teeth and thought, 'Let's do this'. We had 16 hours to go," Sophie told The Sydney Morning Herald.

In January 2021, Sophie announced their engagement after two years of dating. 

"Told you I'd tell you guys first," she wrote. "I'm engaged. I honestly can't thank you enough for all the love and support. I know I have the coolest people following me and you’ve always had my back and I feel so cared about. You're absolute bloody legends. I'm not very good at being mushy. I'm trying to say I absolutely adore you. @joshuargross and I are so happy."

They eloped in 2022.

Nick 'The Honey Badger' Cummins.

In the 2018 season of The Bachelor, Nick 'The Honey Badger' Cummins didn't pick either of his final two contestants. Instead, the rugby player dumped both Sophie Tieman and Brittany Hockley.

It was... a lot.

Nick returned to our screens for SAS Australia in 2020, where he became one of only three contestants to complete the course. 

Nick later went public with his girlfriend Alexandra George. While they keep their relationship relatively low-key, the pair often share sweet pictures of each other on their Instagram pages. 

They live on the Gold Coast together with their son, Billy.

Ali Oetjen and Taite Radley.

After the disaster that was the Honey Badger's season of The Bachelor, Ali Oetjen chose Taite Radley during her season of The Bachelorette. They dated for two years before announcing in an Instagram post that they had broken up.

"It is with the heaviest heart that we want to let everyone know that we have decided to take time apart in order to give each other space and time to fully focus on our own paths," Ali captioned the post.

"We both love each other deeply and only want the best for each other and both want the ultimate happiness for each other and hopefully our paths will reconnect again soon. [sic] We've decided to be open with this so there’s no speculation and so we expect love, respect and kindness in return. I love you Taite."

In December 2022, Ali went public with her partner Mitch Adams.

Matt Agnew and Chelsie McLeod.

In 2019, The Bachelor saw astrophysicist Matt Agnew choose Chelsie McLeod in his finale.

They split after six months of dating.

Chelsie has been dating model Ricki DeHaan since 2020.

In 2020, Matt presented his science show Dr Matt Agnew's Guide to Life Beyond Earth at the Adelaide Fringe Festival. Speaking to the Herald Sun, the astrophysicist explained why he took a step back from the spotlight after the show.

"I did not come out of both the show and the relationship in great shape and I needed time with my close friends and family to pick myself up and put myself back together, really," he told the publication.

That said, Matt doesn't regret going on The Bachelor. 

"It has certainly given me the opportunity to continue to talk about science to a broad audience which is something I am really passionate about."

These days, he shares science content on Instagram and owns a non-alcoholic beer brand.

Angie Kent and Carlin Sterritt.

In the 2019 season of The Bachelorette, former Gogglebox and I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! star Angie Kent chose Carlin Sterritt over fan favourite Timm Hanly.

They announced their split in July 2020.

"Matters of the heart are extremely difficult and I'm sad to say that Carlin and I have broken up," Angie wrote on her Instagram story. 

In December 2020, Angie told Kyle and Jackie O that religion played a role in their relationship ending. "He was very religious and he had all these ideas that I could or should be this certain way when I wasn't," she said. 

"I don't want to be with somebody who wants me to change. I want somebody to love me for me."

Carlin married his current partner Emily Bradwell, who runs a photography and jewellery business, in March 2023.

Angie is a presenter on the Channel Nine lifestyle series Space Invaders, and hosts a podcast with her bestie and Gogglebox co-star Yvie Jones.

Out of all three men on The Bachelors 2023, Jed and Alésia were the only ones to last. But in February 2023, he shared on Instagram they had called it quits. 

"Alésia and I, even though we're not currently in a relationship, we are still continuing to grow together," he wrote."No matter what the title is, that woman is still the number one woman in my life. And I consider myself the luckiest man on earth."

Thomas proposed to Leah during the finale of The Bachelors in 2023, but they didn't last long outside of the reality TV series. 

"I think it was two or three months after the finale," Thomas confessed to 10 Play. "We had an amazing time together and we spent incredible moments together on the show and also after the show… but we realised, spending time together, we had lots of love and care for each other but we weren't compatible, and compatibility is so important."

In the end, the pair decided to "stay friends".

In 2023, basketball player Felix chose Jessica, who broke up with her boyfriend Damien Kelly to have an exclusive monogamous relationship. But they couldn't quite nail long-distance dating. 

"As someone who really values communication and who loves a good D&M, I felt like Felix and I had very different perspectives on what that would look like, and we just kind of lacked that communication," Jessica told 10 Play.

"We were on different levels in that sense and it inevitably did naturally fizzle out. I still have care for him and I truly want the best for him and I will always want to be there for him as a friend."

Brea and Wesley didn't even make it past the rose ceremony as they ultimately rejected one another during the finale. 

But the pair still "care for one another", according to Brea, who spoke to Refinery29.

She later added, "Who cares about making it look like a fairytale ending? If it's not right, I'm not going to commit to someone on national television."

Luke and Ellie had everyone's hopes up when they confessed they loved each other during the finale episode. However, four months after the final rose ceremony, they announced their relationship was over.

They kept it quiet and then unfollowed each other on Instagram, which caused speculation.

A month later, in March 2024, Luke told Yahoo Lifestyle, "Ellie and I have separated and would like to keep our relationship private," he said. 

"Ellie has a soul that lights up every room she walks into and I will sorely miss it in my life."

Despite being fan favourites, Ben and McKenna didn't last outside of the reality TV series. Right after the finale aired, the pair admitted they had already broken up.

"It is with sadness that I share things with myself and Mckenna didn't work out the way we had hoped," Ben said in a statement. "In the end the distance was difficult; we both had extended commitments overseas in different time zones, which was challenging."
