A few weeks ago Julie Bishop stepped down as foreign minister and announced she would be leaving politics.
Now, she’s has opened up about the bullying culture towards women in Australian politics.
Speaking with 60 Minutes, Bishop said the behaviour in parliament was “no better than school children,” elaborating that actually they were “not as well behaved as school children”.
The ferocious events and bullying of the last few weeks has revealed the thin ranks of women in the Coalition, and it’s about to get even worse. #60Mins pic.twitter.com/sgOWJqH1Ya

“I’ve had many calls from my counterpart foreign ministers who are very politely asking why I am no longer the Foreign Minister and what happened to the Prime Minister. There have been some rather unkind comments about Australia being the Italy of the South Pacific and the coup capital of the world,” she told the program.

Well Julie I would suggest that if you're not part of the solution then you're part of the problem. Why didn't you speak about these issues when you were in a position to do something about them?
I seem to recall Julie Bishop said Julia Gillard hadn't any right or justification to point out the way the latter was treated on account of gender. Oh, how the worm turns...
Julia Gillard was never criticized purely because of her gender. Obviously there were some on the fringes who did do this but twitter is a public outlet for any neanderthal to say whatever they want (as it should be, free speech and all).
She was criticized because she was a hopeless PM who's term was based on a lie. Just because she claimed it was sexism doesn't mean it was.
That's simply your opinion, James, not a fact.
Strange how Bishop and Turnbull both noticed such deeply ingrained issues in their party the second they're not shooting for re-election.
